This Weeks Market!

This Week's Event

Harvest Celebration! Join us as we celebrate the bountiful fall harvest this Saturday, September 29th, from 8am to 1pm at our annual Harvest Celebration Market!

Each year the International Herb Association chooses a Herb of the Year and this year’s featured herb is Hops! In celebration we’re excited to announce that Carp’s very own Brewery, Ridge Rock Brewing Co, that is slated to open this fall, will be joining us for a special sampling tent! Also, Richmond’s own Ottawa Valley Hops will be here featuring their 6 varieties of Hops grown on their farm.

In light of last week’s tornado, we will be collecting both monetary and non-perishable food items for the West Carleton Food Access Centre as our community and neighbours in Dunrobin deal with the aftermath of the storm. You can drop off your donations at our Hostess Info Cart located outside near the food court.

Here's a quick rundown of our Harvest Celebration:

• 90+ local Carp Market vendors

• International food court

• Beer sampling with Ridge Rock Brewing Co. starting at 11am

• Ottawa Valley Hops - learn more about this local farm & their 6 varieties of Hops

• 3 Sisters Soup Fundraiser - proceeds go to Minwaashin Lodge

• Maple taffy & maple cotton candy from Mississippi Maple - sales go towards the West Carleton Food Access Centre

• Wheelchair accessible - Pet friendly! All dogs must be kept on a maximum 6-foot leash.

Please note that as we are a farmers’ market, the majority of our vendors accept cash only, however we do have an ATM on site.

Dunrobin & Ottawa-Gatineau Tornado Victims

We’d like to send out our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by the tornado that occurred Friday, September 21st. To our neighbours, friends, vendors and customers in Dunrobin, and Ottawa-Gatineau, we are thinking of you as you recover from the aftermath of this horrific storm. Dunrobin is a close neighbour to Carp, and if we know one thing about small communities it’s that they are filled with kind, caring and generous people. Our hearts are with you all. We will be collecting donations for the victims at our Hostess Info Cart this Saturday, September 29th, from 8am to 1pm.

This Weeks Recipe

 Three Sisters Soup

Recipe

The Three Sisters Soup recipe is a traditional Native American recipe from the Iroquois nation. The term refers to the 3 main crops of tribes: corn, squash and beans. These three crops were traditionally planted close to one another, and like sisters, helped each other grow.

You can purchase a bowl of Three Sisters Soup this Saturday at the Harvest Celebration Market as we raise funds for Minwaashin Lodge.
