This coming Saturday, October 28, 2017, will be our last market of the regular season. We hope you will all come back for a visit to our Christmas Market, Friday December 1 and Saturday December 2.

As I look back on this growing season, I have nothing but gratitude for you, our faithful market customers. What a challenging start to the growing season, with record rainfall and flooding on many of our farms! But the fields did eventually dry out and we got those transplants in the ground and the weather changed. And the fall weather we have been experiencing has been a bonus for those crops that struggled because of a shortage of sun and heat through the summer. Harvest season is winding down but fall fruits and vegetables are still in great supply. This Saturday will be our final regular season market and a great chance for you to stock up on produce, baking and crafts from your favourite vendors. (Hint, hint, those root vegetables such as carrots, rutabaga, and beets can store for months in the fridge, vegetables such as potatoes, squash, garlic and onions can store for months out of the fridge, so stock up!)

So now, as we approach this last market, I would like to thank you, our loyal customers, for sticking by us and making 2017 a banner year for the Carp Farmers’ Market.

Sincerely, Dorothy Dobson, Carp Farmers’ Market Association President
