8:00am – Welcome to our 17th Garlic Festival

9:30am – The Best Garlic Contest

Garlic growers vie for the red ribbon in 5 categories. Visitors can view the entries at the Events Tent until 12:30.

10:00am – Garlic Tasting Event begins – and will continue through to Sunday afternoon

Back by popular demand, participants can taste and rate different varieties of garlic for their strength. This event will be located in the Events Tent.

10:30am – Celebrity Chef –

11:30am – Growing Garlic with Award-Winning Garlic Grower John Moore

All about growing great garlic. John would love to answer your questions about growing garlic!

12.30pm – Jim Craig Memorial Award – for Best Booth

Sue Craig, Jim’s daughter, will present the winner with a Golden Garlic Pendant, made by Eric and Christine Brackenbury. Winner will also have their name engraved on a plaque.

1:00pm – Celebrity Chef –

2:00pm – Dealing with Leek Moth, Bulb and Stem Nematode and other garlic pests

David McCreery, our guest expert and long time garlic grower, will describe serious pests you may encounter growing garlic, propose solutions and answer any questions you may have on these pests, or garlic growing in general.

3:00pm The Festival closes. See you on Sunday

Catherine Cheff of Cheffield Farms will demonstrate braiding with different types of garlic.

11:30am – Growing Garlic with Award-Winning Garlic Grower John Moore

All about growing great garlic. Questions welcome.
1:00pm – Celebrity Chef –

2:00pm – How to unlock the amazing health benefits of garlic in everyday cooking

Kylah Dobson of ‘Rainbow Heritage Garden’, organic farmer, recipe developer, Holistic Nutrition Therapist and mother, shares how to unlock the amazing health benefit of garlic, why choosing local garlic over imported garlic is important, and a few delicious healthy ideas on how to use garlic in everyday cooking.
