Community Food Advisors - The Benefits of Kale

This week, the City of Ottawa will be holding a Community Food Advisor at the market featuring the benefits of cooking with superfood kale!

Not only can kale be eaten raw in salads, you can also sauté, bake and blend kale incorporating it into smoothies or muffins! Packed full of vitamins, kale is an excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin A, vitamin C and folate. Kale is also a source of calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium and dietary fibre.

Be sure to stop by the Community Food Advisor booth this Saturday and pick up some delicious recipe ideas using this highly nutritious vegetable that is available at the market for the remainder of the season.
